Spam and Virus Filtering that works in front of your mail server.

Combine spam screening and virus scanning in an upstream email filtering layer for your domain. SpamGator is designed for domain owners, businesses and service providers that want practical email protection with straightforward administration.

What it means

Hosted filtering without another appliance

SpamGator sits in front of your existing email service and filters inbound messages before accepted mail is forwarded to the destination server.

Spam and Virus Filtering. SpamGator is a hosted gateway service: inbound email is routed through the filtering layer first, and messages that are accepted are then forwarded to your configured mail server or hosted mailbox platform.

You keep control of your domain and destination mail system. SpamGator adds the filtering layer in front of it rather than requiring a replacement mailbox platform.

How it works

Three steps from Internet mail to your inbox

1. Route inbound mailUpdate your domain’s MX records so Internet email is sent to SpamGator for processing.
2. Filter and quarantineMultiple filtering layers evaluate inbound messages. Suspicious or unwanted mail can be blocked or quarantined.
3. Deliver accepted mailMessages that pass filtering are forwarded to the destination mail server you already use.

Controls for administrators and users

SpamGator is intended to give domain administrators useful visibility rather than operate as a black box. Administrators can review quarantine and mail logs, manage user accounts, and maintain allowlist and blocklist settings. Individual users can be given access to their own quarantine and personal list controls.

Quarantine is important because no responsible spam filter can promise perfect classification. When a legitimate message is held, authorized users can review and release it rather than losing visibility into the decision.

Pricing designed around domains

SpamGator Lite is $5 per month per domain for up to 50 email accounts. Professional is $10 per month per domain for up to 250 accounts and adds a 30-day email archive with view/redelivery capability. The Reseller plan starts at $15 per month for three domains, with additional domains at $3 per month. Billing discounts are available for six-month and annual terms.

There are no message-volume limits. That makes costs easier to understand for domains whose email volume changes from month to month.
